Yeshiva University Press and Koren Publishers Jerusalem have announced the release of “Jacob: The Story of a Family” by Rabbi Dr. Jonathan Grossman. Rabbi Dr. Grossman is an associate professor of Bible at Bar-Ilan University and Herzog College. This book is the latest addition to the Maggid Tanakh Companions series.
The book explores Jacob’s life, focusing on his personal journey, family struggles, and spiritual experiences. It examines how Jacob’s path was marked by both hardship and divine encounters, including meeting his future wife while fleeing from his brother and becoming the father of the twelve tribes that would form a nation.
Rabbi Dr. Stuart Halpern, senior advisor to the provost at Yeshiva University and deputy director of the Straus Center for Torah and Western Thought, commented on the publication: “Jacob: The Story of a Family is another stellar achievement in the scholarship of Rabbi Dr. Jonathan Grossman, capturing the joy and pain of Jacob’s life,” said Halpern. “The Jewish people are lucky to count Rabbi Dr. Grossman as one of our generation’s leading Tanakh scholars and we at Yeshiva University are proud to help share this translation from the original Hebrew edition of the book with the English-reading public.”
“Jacob: The Story of a Family” is now available for purchase through Koren Publishers, Amazon, and other booksellers.
