Yeshiva University is set to hold its 94th Annual Commencement on May 22 at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, NY. The event will honor the Class of 2025, celebrating their academic achievements and values.
Rachel Goldberg-Polin will deliver the commencement address. Known for her courage and determination, Goldberg-Polin has become a symbol of resilience following the murder of her son, Hersh Goldberg-Polin, while he was held hostage by Hamas. Her address is expected to inspire graduates with a message rooted in hope and faith.
The university will also present Congresswoman Elise Stefanik with the Presidential Medallion for Global Leadership. This recognition highlights her dedication to supporting Israel and defending Jewish communities. Previous recipients include Senator John Fetterman and Dr. Danny Gold.
Rabbi Dr. Ari Berman, President of Yeshiva University, expressed his honor at having both speakers at the ceremony: “We are deeply honored that Rachel Goldberg-Polin and Congresswoman Elise Stefanik will address our graduates—two extraordinary individuals whose leadership has inspired strength, unity and moral clarity at a defining moment in Jewish history.”
Goldberg-Polin acknowledged the support from Yeshiva University during her personal challenges: “Throughout our personal quest to save our beloved Hersh…the valiant Yeshiva University community was by our side holding us up.” She expressed gratitude for participating in the commencement ceremony.
Congresswoman Stefanik commented on receiving the medallion: “I am humbled and honored to receive the Presidential Medallion…and I look forward to joining this year’s graduating class to celebrate their remarkable achievements.” She emphasized her role in combating antisemitism on campuses across the nation.
The ceremony aims to reflect Yeshiva University’s mission of empowering students as future leaders committed to truth, faith, and service.
