TORONTO — The New York Yankees are set to host the 77th Old-Timers’ Day on August 9 at Yankee Stadium, reviving the traditional alumni baseball game. This year, the event will also celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Yankees’ 2000 World Series championship.
Hall of Famers Mariano Rivera and Joe Torre are among those scheduled to attend, along with first-time Old-Timers Roger Clemens, David Justice, Alfonso Soriano, and Jose Vizcaino. The roster includes Monument Park inductees Ron Guidry, Paul O’Neill, Tino Martinez, Andy Pettitte, Jorge Posada, Willie Randolph, and Bernie Williams. Clay Bellinger will participate alongside his son Cody Bellinger.
The Old-Timers’ Day game returns for the first time since 2019 after a two-year pause due to COVID-19. In 2022, it was reimagined as a question-and-answer session before returning to its traditional format this year.
Fans should be seated by 12 p.m. ET for introductions read by Michael Kay. The baseball game will follow immediately after.
The announced roster includes Jesse Barfield, Clay Bellinger, Aaron Boone, Homer Bush, Chris Chambliss, Roger Clemens, David Cone, Johnny Damon, Bucky Dent, Brian Doyle, John Flaherty, Dwight Gooden, Ron Guidry, Orlando Hernandez, David Justice among others.
