The New York Yankees’ top prospects are making headlines in Minor League Baseball. Spencer Jones, the Yankees’ No. 2 prospect, is showcasing his power at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. On Sunday, he hit two home runs as part of a four-hit game, tying for the MiLB home run lead with 26 homers in 65 games. This performance marks his third multihomer game of the season.
Meanwhile, George Lombard Jr., the Yankees’ No. 1 prospect and ranked No. 33 overall by MLB, is adjusting to Double-A Somerset after a strong start at High-A Hudson Valley. He hit a leadoff homer for the second consecutive day, totaling four homers and 14 steals in 60 games with Somerset.
Other notable performances include Colt Emerson of Everett (Seattle Mariners), who celebrated his birthday with a home run; Carter Jensen of Omaha (Kansas City Royals), who continues to impress at Triple-A; and Sal Stewart of Louisville (Cincinnati Reds), who hit his first Triple-A homer.
