Spencer Jones, an outfield prospect for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders and the New York Yankees’ No. 4 prospect, reached a significant milestone in Minor League Baseball on Sunday by hitting his 30th home run of the season. This marked his 14th home run in just 32 Triple-A games.
Jones achieved this feat against Phillies top prospect Andrew Painter, sending the ball to the opposite field with an exit velocity of 110.9 mph and a distance of 436 feet, according to Statcast. He has now hit at least 20 home runs and stolen at least 20 bases this season, joining only two other Minor Leaguers with similar stats so far this year. Since his promotion to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Jones is batting .320 with a .400 on-base percentage and a .704 slugging percentage.

Other notable performances across the Minor Leagues included Charlie Condon of Hartford (Colorado Rockies), who homered as part of a three-hit day; Samuel Basallo of Norfolk (Baltimore Orioles), who drove in four runs; Carson Williams of Durham (Tampa Bay Rays), who hit his 20th homer and stole his 21st base; Jonah Tong of Binghamton (New York Mets), who struck out eight in five innings before being promoted; Ralphy Velazquez of Lake County (Cleveland Guardians), who hit two home runs; Alex Clemmey of Wilmington (Washington Nationals), who threw six scoreless innings; and Jean Cabrera of Reading (Philadelphia Phillies), who pitched six no-hit innings.
Jones’s continued success highlights his potential impact for the Yankees as he leads all Minor Leaguers in home runs this season.
