MLB Pipeline has released its updated in-season Top 100 Prospects list, reflecting significant changes from the preseason rankings. The new list features 41 players who were not previously ranked, including a dozen from the 2025 Draft class.

Among the most notable risers is George Lombard Jr., a shortstop in the New York Yankees organization. Lombard was selected as the 26th overall pick in the 2023 MLB Draft and signed for $3.3 million, above his draft slot value. He made an early impression this spring at High-A with a strong start, hitting .329/.495/.488. Despite facing challenges after moving up a level, Lombard has managed to record seven home runs and 29 stolen bases as a 20-year-old, spending most of his season at Double-A.

“Lombard’s ability to show solid across-the-board tools and high baseball IQ led him to sign for an above-slot $3.3 million as the 26th overall pick in the 2023 Draft. His coming-out party happened this spring at High-A, where he opened the season on a .329/.495/.488 tear. Though he’s been challenged since jumping a level, he’s still produced seven homers and 29 steals as a 20-year-old this season, most of it at Double-A.”

Other breakout prospects include Luis Peña of the Brewers, who moved from unranked to No. 16 overall after posting impressive numbers in Single-A before earning a promotion; Carson Benge of the Mets, whose offensive performance across three levels elevated him to No. 20; and Payton Tolle of the Red Sox, who climbed more than 60 spots to become one of the top left-handed pitching prospects.

The updated Top 100 also highlights Nolan McLean (Mets), Ryan Sloan (Mariners), Jonah Tong (Mets), Eduardo Quintero (Dodgers), Gage Jump (Athletics), and C.J. Kayfus (Guardians) for their significant progress during the season.

For fans interested in following organizational prospect developments further, MLB Pipeline provides detailed team Top 30 Prospects lists for all clubs across both leagues.

MLB Pipeline continues to offer comprehensive coverage with statistics, video content, podcasts, and analysis related to prospects throughout professional baseball.
