Wyatt McGovern, Darren Pang, and George Rubelsky from the Columbia men’s golf team have been named 2024-25 NCAA Division I Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars. The recognition is given in partnership with the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
This year, 599 NCAA Division I athletes from 204 schools received this honor. McGovern has now earned the distinction for three consecutive years.
To qualify for nomination as a Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar, student-athletes must be sophomores, juniors, or seniors both academically and athletically at NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA institutions. Alternatively, those receiving their Associate’s Degree and in their final year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA are also eligible. Nominees must compete in at least half of their team’s competitive rounds, maintain a stroke average below 76.0 in NCAA Division I, and hold a cumulative career GPA of at least 3.2. Candidates must also demonstrate high moral character and remain in good standing with their institution.
The Columbia men’s golf team was also recognized among 77 NCAA Division I teams to receive the Presidents Special Recognition award. This accolade is presented to teams maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher.
