The School of Education recently organized a two-day Summer Leadership Institute aimed at educational administrators. The event focused on networking, sharing insights, and developing strategies to improve leadership practices in schools and communities.
The institute, titled “Leadership that Connects: Leading in Today’s Challenging Times,” saw participation from 26 superintendents, assistant superintendents, district leaders, and principals from various area schools. It featured panel discussions, workshops, and interactive sessions emphasizing effective leadership communication. Participants engaged with thought leaders in education to learn about bridging communication gaps and inspiring teams.
Two keynote speakers addressed the attendees. Julia Mahfouz, Ph.D., Associate Professor in Leadership for Educational Organizations at the University of Colorado Denver, spoke on “The Function of Burnout.” Peter M. DeWitt, Ed.D., Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Instructional Leadership Collective, discussed “Creating Communities of Trust.”
