Grace Meng, a U.S. Congresswoman representing New York’s 6th district from Queens, shared a series of updates on social media concerning key issues impacting her constituents. Meng, who has been a member of Congress since 2013 and a former member of the New York State Assembly, highlighted the significance of Medicaid and other programs that play vital roles in her district.
On April 17, 2025, Meng addressed the importance of Medicaid in her district, where it supports seniors, children, families, and patients in local hospitals. "Cuts to this vital program would mean eliminating coverage for nearly 270,000 people in my district," she noted after touring a hospital and meeting with seniors and families.
Later the same day, Meng reported on the successful reversal of an administrative decision affecting the Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) program, which aids manufacturing companies across the nation. "After sounding the alarm on the Administration's decision to cut funding...@CommerceGov has reversed course," she announced.
The following day, Meng extended wishes for Good Friday, an observation marked by reflection and prayer. "Wishing all who observe a blessed & holy day!" she expressed in her message recognizing the day's significance.
Grace Meng was born in New York City in 1975 and resides in Queens. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan and Yeshiva University.
