Adriano Espaillat, a member of the U.S. Congress representing New York's 13th District, utilizes social media to communicate incidents and concerns to his constituency. Through a series of tweets, he shared personal experiences and expressed his condolences regarding various events.

On April 10, 2025, Espaillat reported a minor incident involving a plane he was aboard. He shared, “Esta tarde, varios miembros del Congreso, incluyéndome a mí y a otros pasajeros, nos vimos afectados por un incidente menor cuando nuestro avión rozó las alas con otra aeronave mientras circulaba por la pista en el Aeropuerto Nacional Ronald Reagan. Los percances en la aviación”. This incident, which involved a plane wing brushing against another aircraft at Ronald Reagan National Airport, resulted in no reported injuries.

Later on the same day, Espaillat expressed his sorrow over a tragic helicopter crash in the Hudson River, stating, “Heartbroken by reports of a helicopter crash in the Hudson River and the lives lost in this incident. My office is closely monitoring this ongoing situation and staying in touch with local officials. Praying for the victims and their families. #NYC #HudsonRiver”.

In a similar message, also on April 10, 2025, Espaillat reiterated his concerns and prayers in Spanish, reflecting on the helicopter crash tragedy, “Estamos consternados por los informes del accidente de helicóptero en el río Hudson y las vidas perdidas en este incidente. Mi oficina está monitoreando de cerca esta situación y manteniéndose en contacto con las autoridades locales. Oramos por las víctimas y sus familias. #NYC”.

Adriano Espaillat is currently serving in the U.S. Congress, representing New York’s 13th District. He replaced Charles Rangel in 2017, having previously served in the New York State Assembly and State Senate. Born in Santiago, Dominican Republic, in 1954, Espaillat, aged 68, resides in Manhattan and is a Queens College graduate.
