FOX Nation is set to release a new documentary entitled “Rebound: A Year of Triumph and Tragedy at Yeshiva University Basketball" on April 9th, according to platform president Lauren Petterson. The film, directed by Emmy award-winning filmmaker Pat Dimon, highlights the struggles and triumphs of Yeshiva University’s basketball team, known as the Maccabees, in the wake of the October 7th terrorist attacks in Israel. This documentary offers viewers an inside look into the private Orthodox Jewish university located in New York City.

“We’re honored to share this heroic story of fortitude in which the Maccabees showcased the true definition of resilience. Our viewers will experience all the emotions as they watch this valiant team bring their all to the basketball court in honor of Israel," Petterson remarked.

The film details how the YU Maccabees, who secured the Skyline Championship this season, dealt with the challenges following the attacks. These events forced the team, which included six Israeli players, to decide whether to continue their season. The documentary goes on to follow the team on a mid-season trip to Israel where they visited families, showed support for Israel Defense Forces soldiers, and heard testimony from a freed hostage. This experience underscored their resolve to use their basketball games as a platform to show support for Israel.

Head Coach Eliott Steinmetz and standout player Zevi Samet lead the team's efforts during this time. Samet was recognized as the Skyline Conference Player of the Year.

Director Pat Dimon commented, “I believe sports have the incredible ability to unite and inspire, especially in times of tragedy. I am grateful for the Maccabees for letting us travel along with them each step of this unprecedented season.”

Yeshiva University President Rabbi Dr. Ari Berman emphasized the significance of the team’s decision to carry on playing. He said, “This film is about more than basketball. When you play for Yeshiva University, you are not just playing for a school, you are playing for a people. In the wake of October 7th, our basketball team made a defining choice: to stand tall as proud Jews, embodying unity, and strength far beyond the court."

Produced by Blake Berson for A-Frame Productions, the documentary’s executive producers include Morgan Hertzan, Azadeh De Leon, Shawn Efran, Margaret, and Daniel Loeb.
