Sports Illustrated has published a report concerning JuJu Watkins, a star athlete at the University of Southern California, and her recent ACL injury. The piece outlines insights into her potential recovery timeline, as provided by Dr. Anil S. Ranawat, a sports medicine surgeon at the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS).
Dr. Ranawat explained, "it can vary greatly depending on the athlete," referring to the recovery period after an ACL injury. He further stated that recovery could see players returning to full capacity anywhere from nine to fourteen months. He added, "Considering this event happened at the end of the season, that decision may be a wise and safe move from the athlete’s perspective. JuJu Watkins has a long and potentially lucrative career ahead of her, so caution may be the safest predictor for long-term success."
