Hakeem Jeffries, a U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 8th district, has been vocal on social media about various issues. He has served in Congress since 2013 after succeeding Edolphus Towns and previously held a position in the New York State Assembly from 2007 to 2012. Jeffries was born in Brooklyn, New York City, where he currently resides. He is an alumnus of Binghamton University and holds a JD from New York University.

On March 5, 2025, Jeffries highlighted the story of Louise, "a three-year Navy vet with four sons ages 3, 12, 13 and 15." He noted her challenges post-service as she struggled to find employment and relies on Medicaid for healthcare and SNAP for food assistance for her children. Jeffries urged people to "Share her story."

Two days later, on March 7, Jeffries criticized Rep. Andy Ogles by stating that Ogles is "a complete and total fraud," adding that "Your resolution is going nowhere." This statement was shared via his social media platform here.

On March 8, Jeffries addressed economic concerns related to tariffs imposed during Donald Trump's presidency. He asserted that "The Trump Tariffs are raising costs" and claimed they are also "crashing the economy," expressing his stance through another post.
