Applications are now being accepted for the Fiscal Year 2026 Capital Funding under Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso. According to the New York City Charter, each of the five Borough Presidents is responsible for distributing capital funding annually as part of the City's budget process. These funds aim to enhance infrastructure and upgrade existing facilities across the borough, including parks, streets, schools, hospitals, economic development projects, affordable housing initiatives, cultural institutions, and nonprofit organizations.

"Capital funding is an engine of transformation in our city, one that enables city agencies, schools, nonprofits, and other organizations to make the physical improvements necessary to continue to serve residents," stated Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso. He added that applications help identify Brooklyn's priorities and needs. "In my first year, we made historic investments in Brooklyn’s public hospitals to address the maternal mortality crisis in our borough," he noted.

The New York City Office of Management and Budget (OMB) sets guidelines on which projects can receive capital funding and which organizations are eligible. Inquiries about this program should be directed to Astrid Cuas at [email protected].

Interested parties can find eligibility information and apply by visiting https://www.brooklynbp.nyc.gov/departments/budget/. The deadline for submitting applications requesting funding from Borough Presidents is February 20, 2025. Applications requesting only City Council or DCLA funding must be submitted by March 20, 2025.
