She stated, "Over 47,000 households in Queens rely on SNAP every day to put food on the table." Meng emphasized that rather than reducing funding, efforts should be directed towards enhancing EBT card security to improve efficiency.

The following day, February 3, 2025, Meng shared her experience at a gala celebrating prominent media outlets serving the Bangladeshi American community in Queens. She expressed pride in attending the event by stating, "A wonderful evening spent at the Time Television and Bangla Patrika Gala! Later that same day, Meng hosted a grant information session aimed at assisting local groups with navigating federal funding processes amidst concerns about potential freezes. In her tweet she mentioned: "I hosted a grant information session to help Queens groups navigate the federal funding process & listen to their concerns about the impact of a federal funding freeze." She noted that disruptions in federal funds could significantly affect organizations serving local communities.
