Yeshiva University has announced that its President, Rabbi Dr. Ari Berman, will deliver the Benediction at the 60th U.S. presidential inauguration on January 20th in Washington D.C. This event marks Rabbi Berman as the tenth rabbi to participate in a presidential inauguration and only the third to deliver the Benediction.

Rabbi Berman's blessing will follow President Trump's inaugural address and is expected to emphasize unity around America's foundational values. He is noted as the first American-Israeli to speak at such an event, where he will also pray for hostages still held captive in Gaza.

Amidst significant changes on college campuses, Rabbi Berman stands out as the sole university president speaking at this ceremony. His remarks are anticipated to reflect the aspirations of faith-based and values-driven universities nationwide.

Rabbi Berman expressed his honor by stating, "On behalf of Yeshiva University I am deeply honored to have been asked to deliver the Benediction at this momentous time." He added inspiration from prophet Jeremiah's words and emphasized core values like life, liberty, service, sacrifice, faith, and morality.

Ira Mitzner, Chairman of Yeshiva University's Board of Trustees, remarked on Rabbi Berman's role as a testament to his leadership and Yeshiva University's prominence. Mitzner highlighted the university's commitment to Torah values and academic excellence.

Since assuming his role in 2017 as Yeshiva University's fifth president, Rabbi Berman has led significant growth and innovation within the institution. Under his guidance, new degree programs have been launched alongside increased enrollment rates and philanthropic contributions.

Beyond academia, Rabbi Berman has emerged as a national leader advocating for moral clarity. He founded a coalition against terrorism following attacks in Israel and led a delegation of university presidents on a historic visit to Auschwitz.

Rabbi Berman is recognized globally for bridging diverse communities through various international engagements promoting education and interfaith peace. A sought-after speaker with multiple degrees from Yeshiva University and Hebrew University of Jerusalem, he continues contributing significantly across educational landscapes.

Yeshiva University remains committed to its core Torah values while offering unique dual programs combining Jewish studies with liberal arts courses across its New York City campuses.
