Adriano Espaillat, a member of the U.S. Congress representing New York's 13th district, shared several messages on social media reflecting both somber and celebratory moments. Espaillat, who has been serving in Congress since 2017 after replacing Charles Rangel, used his platform to express condolences, extend congratulations, and show appreciation for cultural contributions.

On December 3, 2024, Espaillat expressed deep sorrow over a tragic incident involving Omer Neutra. "Nuestros corazones están destrozados por la trágica noticia del brutal asesinato de Omer Neutra a manos de terroristas de Hamás," he stated. He noted having recently met with Neutra's family in Washington and extended his solidarity to them.

Later that day, Espaillat congratulated Vladimir Bautista on the expansion of his business. "Congratulations @happymunkeyCEO (Vladimir Bautista) on the opening of the new Happy Munkey site on Dyckman Street," he wrote, highlighting Bautista's contribution to community development through this second store location.

In another post from December 3, 2024, Espaillat expressed gratitude towards Melody Capote and her team at the Caribbean Cultural Center African Diaspora Institute. "Thank you, Melody Capote and the entire team at the Caribbean Cultural Center African Diaspora Institute for all you do celebrating the vibrant Caribbean culture and heritage throughout our community," he remarked.
