NYU's Faculty Fellow-In-Residence program aims to foster a sense of belonging by creating living-learning communities within residence halls and making professors available as mentors for students.

The program's practical implementation can be seen through Tisch professor Dell Howlett. His role includes leading dance classes, sound-bath meditations, and organizing excursions to New York City museums and Broadway shows. The NYU News team explored the daily activities of Howlett, who is serving for the first time as a Faculty Fellow-in-Residence at Rubin Hall. He acts as both a cultural liaison and a friendly neighbor to first-year students.
