On November 21, 2024, Rep. Velázquez acknowledged Transgender Day Of Remembrance with a call to honor those who have lost their lives to anti-trans violence and hate crimes. She emphasized the importance of unity against hate and bigotry, stating: "Today, on Transgender Day Of Remembrance, we pause to honor the lives lost to anti-trans violence and hate crimes."
The following day, November 22, she paid tribute to her colleague Barbara Lee's career achievements since 1998. Velázquez expressed admiration for Lee's role as a progressive voice in Washington by writing: "This week, we celebrated the incredible career of my colleague and friend @repbarbaralee."
Later that same day, Rep. Velázquez commended Rep. Raul Grijalva for his leadership as the top Democrat on the House Committee on Natural Resources.
