Rep. Nydia Velázquez, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing New York’s 7th district, shared a series of tweets on November 18 and 19, 2024, addressing both local development projects and national political issues.

On November 18, Velázquez expressed enthusiasm for the groundbreaking of a new elementary school in Long Island City. She stated, "Excited to break ground on a state-of-the-art 547-seat elementary school in Long Island City! As LIC continues to grow, we must ensure all of our kids have a safe, enriching space to learn and thrive."

The following day, Velázquez commented on political accountability in response to recent allegations against Matt Gaetz. She tweeted on November 19 that "Resigning from Congress after being nominated for AG shouldn’t shield you from allegations of serious sexual misconduct. The information in the Gaetz report must be made available to the Senate and the public."

Later that same day, she criticized Nancy Mace's actions regarding former President Trump. In her tweet at 18:52:29 UTC on November 19, Velázquez remarked that "This is just another weak attempt by Nancy Mace to get Trump’s attention. But this is what the GOP does when they have no solutions for the American people they attack trans people. What a disgrace."
