Assemblyman Michael Tannousis (R,C-Staten Island/Brooklyn) recently hosted Detective Tom Donohue of the Staten Island District Attorney's Office at the Police Officers Memorial Remembrance Ceremony in Albany. The ceremony was held to honor fallen police officers, including Detective Donohue’s wife, NYPD Lieutenant Maureen Gill-Donohue.

Lieutenant Gill-Donohue was one of 68 officers who tragically lost their lives in the line of duty. Their names were added to the Police Memorial Wall during the ceremony. Lt. Gill-Donohue had been battling 9/11-related illnesses and succumbed to cancer in 2022.

Her name is now etched into the black granite police memorial wall, joining 1,840 other fallen officers and Ground Zero-related deaths.

“I was proud to welcome my good friend and former colleague from the Staten Island District Attorney’s Office, Detective Tom Donohue, for the Police Officers Memorial Remembrance Ceremony. His wife, Lieutenant Maureen Gill-Donohue, will be remembered forever as her name is now engraved on the Police Memorial Wall. We will always honor her bravery and sacrifice. Her memory will be eternal,” said Tannousis.
