Flora Ferguson Shares Life After Juilliard Journey

Flora Ferguson, a graduate of Juilliard with a BFA in dance, has been actively pursuing her passion for dance and choreography since leaving the prestigious institution. She shared her post-graduation experiences and reflections on her journey.

Ferguson spoke about various artistic collaborations and performances she has been involved in since graduating. She mentioned being mentored by Sidra Bell and premiering a new work with composer Akari Komura. She also highlighted her choreographic pursuits, including presenting solo work at Moving Forward’s Emerging Artist Festival alongside Madison Hicks.

Additionally, Ferguson discussed her participation in a collaboration with fashion houses Delfina Balda and Gray Matters for their Fantasies in Motion show, as well as joining the Metropolitan Opera’s ballet corps to dance in Wagner’s Tannhäuser. She also mentioned working with John Heginbotham and Joshua Roman on a project called Immunity, which premiered at Chelsea Factory as part of Juilliard’s residency.

Reflecting on her experiences, Ferguson expressed gratitude for her time at Juilliard and the support she has received in her journey. She described her post-graduation period as "vulnerable, triumphant, joyous, surprising, intricate, and vibrant," emphasizing her growing appreciation and dedication to her craft every day.
