St. John’s University recently hosted its annual Accepted Student Day, welcoming over 1,600 high school seniors, graduate candidates, and their families to the Queens, NY campus. The event showcased various academic and service opportunities, technological advances, athletics, and the nearly completed St. Vincent Health Sciences Center.

President of St. John’s University emphasized the importance of the people at the institution, stating, “It’s the people at St. John’s— the professors, administrators, staff, and you and your potential fellow classmates—who make St. John’s what it is.” He also highlighted the University's commitment to student success, saying, “We change students’ lives. That is the strength of our commitment to your student success.”

Provost Simon G. Møller expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, “Accepted Student Day is one of my favorite days of the year. Students discover that our focus is always on them and their personal and professional growth and success.”

Attendees, like Matilda Capuano and Evan Hoffman, shared their excitement about joining St. John’s University. Matilda, who plans to major in Legal Studies, described St. John’s as "the perfect place for me," while Evan, considering a major in nursing or biology, was impressed by the warm welcome he received on campus.

The day included performances by various student groups, registration for the Fall 2024 semester, and interactions with faculty and peers. Samantha R. Wright, Chief Enrollment Officer for St. John’s, expressed gratitude to all participants, emphasizing the University's focus on student success.

Accepted Student Day provided a platform for future Johnnies to connect with the St. John’s community, explore academic opportunities, and envision their journey at the University.
