Yeshiva University’s Katz School of Science and Health has introduced a new Accelerated B.S. in Nursing program, allowing students to complete their nursing degree in just 16 months. This initiative aims to address the growing demand for skilled nurses in the tristate area and beyond.
Rabbi Dr. Ari Berman, President of Yeshiva University, expressed pride in the program, stating, "Yeshiva University’s new nursing program is another example of our values in action." The program's curriculum aligns with the latest standards set by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, ensuring graduates are well-prepared to enter the workforce.
Dr. Paul Russo, the dean of the Katz School, highlighted the program's strategic location in Midtown Manhattan, emphasizing the valuable hands-on clinical experiences students will gain in proximity to renowned hospitals. Dr. Russo also mentioned the competitive starting salaries for RNs in the New York area, ranging from $100,000 to $110,000.
Selma Botman, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, praised Katz School graduates for their commitment to enhancing health outcomes and patient experiences. Peggy Tallier, Katz School Senior Associate Dean of Nursing, emphasized the program's focus on providing a rigorous health science education to prepare students for impactful roles in healthcare.
The program's intensive curriculum covers a wide range of patient-care skills and clinical experiences across various specialties, equipping graduates to excel in diverse healthcare settings. Upon completion, students will be eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination—Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN) and pursue generalist roles in healthcare.
