QUEENS, NY – U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Queens) today invited local students who are graduating grades K-12 to attend her upcoming event recognizing graduates of the class of 2023.
The Congresswoman’s third annual graduation photo-op will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, June 24 at La Jornada, 39-04 61 Street, Woodside, N.Y. 11377.
In addition to taking photos, Meng will present all graduates with a special certificate. Those attending should bring their own cameras and are welcome to bring their own caps and gowns as well.
The event is open to all graduates who reside or attend school in Meng’s Sixth Congressional District in Queens, and they should RSVP to https://bit.ly/3qo9bQB.
“I started this graduation photo op in 2021 to recognize local graduates since many schools at the time were not holding in-person graduation ceremonies due to the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Meng. “We had a great turnout that year with many attending last year as well, and even though most graduation ceremonies have returned, we continue to hold this event by popular demand, and as a wonderful way to commemorate the 2023 graduates from our communities. I am excited to see our local graduates on Saturday and look forward to congratulating members of the class of 2023.”
