Brooklyn Halted at Baruch

After pulling out their biggest win of the season to-date on Saturday over Medgar Evers, the Brooklyn College men's volleyball suffered a 3-0 (25-7, 25-15, 25-16) defeat at Baruch College on Tuesday.  BC moves 6-12 overall and 2-7 in CUNYAC with the conference loss while the Bearcats improved to 10-9 and 6-1 respectively.  Next Up: Brooklyn looks to bounce back at home against Lehman on Thursday at 6pm.  

How It Happened

  • Brooklyn took a 3-2 early in the opening set before the home team went on an 8-0 rally en route to running away with the set.  
  • Back-and-forth halfway through the second set, the Bearcats went on a 6-0 run for the cushion they needed to take a 2-0 lead in the match.  Baruch carried their momentum from the end of the second set into the third to close out the match.  
Box Score Breakdown

  • Baruch served up 19 aces on the evening.  
  • Nine different Bearcats recorded at least one kill for the match.  
Leading the Bulldogs

  • Senior middle, Fidel Maldonado, Jr. put away a team-high five kills Freshman outside hitter, Jiaian Flanders added three kills.
  • Freshman libero, Dion Csikortos, finished with a team-high fve digs.
