Cost of college went up for all students at Metropolitan College of New York

Tuition and fees rose 1.4 percent for 2018-19 at Metropolitan College of New York, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

New York students paid $19,454 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $274 more than the $19,180 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 85 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 82 students received grants or scholarships totaling $939,118 and 66 students took out student loans totaling more than $479,949.

Including all undergraduates (1,027), 610 students used grants or scholarships totaling $5.2 million, and 553 students took out $4.8 million in federal student loans.
