36 percent of applicants to CUNY Hunter College were admitted for fall 2018

At CUNY Hunter College, 78 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 65 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in New York enrolled 23,202 students in fall 2018, including 17,212 in undergraduate and 5,990 in graduate programs, data shows. 11 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

96 percent of undergraduates are residents of New York, and 2 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as Hispanic or Latino (31 percent) and Asian (28 percent).

The school admitted 36 percent of the 31,030 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 23 percent enrolled.
