72 percent of applicants to SUNY Maritime College were admitted for fall 2018

At SUNY Maritime College, 93 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 88 percent are male, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Throggs Neck enrolled 1,734 students in fall 2018, including 1,586 in undergraduate and 148 in graduate programs, data shows. 5.7 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

75 percent of undergraduates are residents of New York, and 23 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (69 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (14 percent).

The school admitted 72 percent of the 1,355 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 36 percent enrolled.
