The campaign committee of Democratic Party candidate Michael Steven Hiller, HILLER2020, refunded $1,000 in December, according to data from the Federal Election Commission (FEC).

Candidates can refuse or return contributions for a variety of reasons. Contributions may be refunded, for instance, in the event that the candidate does not want to be affiliated with a contributor, a contribution exceeds legal limits, or the candidate withdraws from a race.

HILLER2020 has refunded $1,000 total since the beginning of the 2019.
