St. John’s University MBA student Baffour Adusei appeared on the July 30 episode of NBC’s Today Show, discussing how his experience at the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club influenced his academic journey. During an interview with Carson Daly, Adusei explained the significant role the club played in helping him secure educational opportunities.
“If it wasn’t for the Kips Bay club, I wouldn’t be able to have received a full scholarship. They gave me a full ride. They gave me a head start. So now I’m in the MBA program at St. John’s for Marketing,” Adusei said.
Jim Clark, President and CEO of Boys & Girls Club, noted that young people who participate in their programs are three times more likely to pursue post-secondary education compared to the national average. Adusei completed his undergraduate studies in business administration at SUNY Oswego before enrolling at St. John’s University’s Peter J. Tobin College of Business in 2024.
The Boys & Girls Club operates more than 5,500 after-school and summer camp programs nationwide, aiming to provide children—especially those lacking resources—with access to valuable support and opportunities.
