The St. John’s women’s golf team finished ninth at the Rutgers Invitational on April 12, completing the event with a total score of 101-over-par, 953, at the Rutgers University Golf Course.
The tournament marks an important milestone for the Red Storm as they conclude their regular season and prepare for postseason play. The team’s final round saw them post a score of 39-over-par, 323, over the last 18 holes.
A sophomore who was recently named BIG EAST Golfer of the Week finished in a tie for 21st place individually after recording a three-round total of 22-over-par, 235. She shot a final round score of 10-over-par, 81. Another individual competitor from St. John’s also tied for 21st overall in the field of eighty-eight golfers with an identical three-round total and posted an eight-over-par, seventy-nine in her last round.
Another member of the Red Storm checked in tied for twenty-seventh on the leaderboard with a cumulative mark of twenty-three-over-par, two hundred thirty-six across three rounds. A teammate turned in St. John’s best third round score with seven-over-par, seventy-eight to finish tied for forty-eighth place overall.
With their regular season now complete, St. John’s will next compete in the BIG EAST Women’s Golf Championship presented by JEEP at Callawassie Island Golf Club in Okatie, South Carolina from April twenty-fifth through twenty-seventh.
