The St. John’s women’s golf team finished as runner-up at the 2026 BIG EAST Championships, according to an April 27 announcement. This marks the program’s best result at the conference tournament since its title win in 2005.

The Red Storm overtook Georgetown on the final day of play at Callawassie Island Golf Club to secure second place, which is also their first-ever runner-up finish since the conference tournament began in 2003. Head Coach Ambry Bishop-Santillo said, “I am so happy for our team and their finish this week. They have worked hard all season, so it was great to see them break records this week and have a successful BIG EAST championship. It was truly a team effort.”

St. John’s ended the tournament with a team score of 29-over-par (893) over three rounds and set a new program single-round scoring record by shooting one-under-par (287) on Sunday.

Three Red Storm golfers placed inside the top seven after three rounds in Okatie, South Carolina. One senior finished fifth after posting a career-low four-under-par (68) in round two—the best placement by any St. John’s golfer since Anna Kim was runner-up in 2016—and earned selection to the BIG EAST All-Tournament Team with an eight-over total (224). Two sophomores tied for seventh place with nine-over totals (225). Another senior shot one-over-par (73) on Monday to finish her collegiate career in nineteenth place with fifteen-over-par (231), while a freshman tied for fifteenth after carding fourteen-over-par (230), highlighted by her own one-over round on Sunday.

Xavier University won its seventh consecutive BIG EAST Championship with a seven-over total (871), led by individual champion Madison Reemsnyder who claimed medalist honors by nine strokes over her nearest competitor.

This result concludes St. John’s 2025-26 season, during which they were runners-up at three events and captured victory at the St. John’s Invitational earlier this month.
