The National Women’s History Alliance welcomed St. John’s University students on March 30 to its monthly webinar series, where they announced the proposed theme of “financial literacy, liberation, and leadership” for the 2027 National Women’s History Month. The announcement marks an ongoing collaboration between the alliance and St. John’s University, with further development of the theme planned through feedback collected in a public survey throughout April before a final version is announced in early May.
National Women’s History Month themes are set each year by the alliance and often shape educational campaigns across the country, appearing in lesson plans and official proclamations. The partnership with St. John’s began with the March 2026 theme “Leading the Change: Women for a Sustainable Future,” which included a print publication and social media campaign as well as a gallery show and reception held on February 25.
The event featured panelists such as NWHA Interim Executive Director Dr. Jill Kracov Zinckgraf, artist Theresa Lovero, project leaders Fiona Lakeram and Cara Dunlevy, along with St. John’s alumna Siobhan Anderson—Senior Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis and Investor Relations at The Wella Company—who sponsored the evening.
St. John’s University supports initiatives through its centers and institutes focused on multicultural efforts both locally and globally according to its official website. The university features campuses in Queens and Manhattan as well as international sites in Rome, Paris, and Limerick according to its official website. It is affiliated with the Vincentian Community according to its official website.
