St. John’s softball defeats Manhattan 9-2 at Red Storm Field

The St. John’s softball team defeated Manhattan, 9-2, on April 15 at Red Storm Field in Queens, New York. The win was highlighted by a five-run third inning and strong performances both offensively and defensively.

This victory brings the Red Storm’s record to 27-16 overall and 6-9 in the BIG EAST conference. The team remains undefeated at home against non-conference opponents this season, with a perfect 6-0 record. St. John’s has now scored eight or more runs in a game for the eleventh time during the current campaign.

Natasha Limbani led the offense with three hits in as many at-bats, tying her season-high for hits and scoring two runs. London Slade contributed two hits and an RBI, while Mya Laroya delivered her first triple of the season along with two RBIs. Sarah Post also drove in two runs for St. John’s.

Pitcher Loreley Francia earned her thirteenth win of her senior year by allowing only two runs—one earned—on three hits over five innings pitched. Avery Neuman and Abbey Feld combined to pitch two scoreless innings of relief to secure the win.

The Johnnies will next host Creighton for a three-game series from April 17 to April 19 at Red Storm Field. All games are scheduled to be broadcast on ESPN+, with live statistics available on RedStormSports.com.
