After a strong showing at the Charleston Invitational, Ana Serafinko and Natasha Limbani of St. John’s University have been named to the BIG EAST Softball Weekly Honor Roll, according to an announcement from the conference on Monday.

Serafinko began her 2026 season by pitching a complete game shutout against Charleston Southern, recording 11 strikeouts. On the second day of competition in South Carolina, she contributed offensively with two hits, including the game-winning RBI in extra innings as St. John’s defeated Central Michigan 7-6. In that same game, Serafinko pitched nine innings, throwing 167 pitches and striking out 13 batters. This marks her third career selection to the honor roll; her previous recognition was on March 25, 2025.

Limbani made an immediate impact in her debut for St. John’s by hitting a walk-off two-run home run against Siena, securing an 8-7 win. She also had a double and scored twice in the season opener. In another game against Charleston, Limbani went three-for-three with an RBI and a walk, and played a key role defensively by starting a triple play with a one-handed catch in the sixth inning. Over the weekend tournament, she totaled seven hits in sixteen at-bats, three RBIs, and four runs scored.

The St. John’s softball team is scheduled to compete next at The Spring Games in Leesburg, Florida, where they will face Alabama State, LIU, Southern Mississippi (twice), and Bethune-Cookman.

“Ana Serafinko picked up where she left off last season in her 2026 debut against Charleston Southern, throwing a complete game while striking out 11 to shut out the Buccaneers.”

“In day two of competition in the Palmetto State, the reigning BIG EAST Pitcher of the Year tallied a pair of hits, including the game-winning RBI in the 10th inning to lift the Red Storm over Central Michigan, 7-6. In the circle, the senior threw 167 pitches and struck out an early season-high 13 batters in nine innings of work to down the Chippewas.”

“Serafinko’s most recent honor roll selection came back on March 25, 2025. This is the third selection of her career.”

“Limbani lifted St. John’s over Siena, 8-7, behind a walk-off two-run homer to secure the victory in her first action as a member of the Red Storm. In the season-opener, the Mississauga, Ontario native finished with a double, a home run and two runs scored.”

“Against Charleston, Limbani went 3-for-3 with an RBI and a walk while spearheading a triple play on an impressive one-handed snag in the sixth inning. Overall, the junior went 7-for-16 with three RBI and four runs scored.”

“The St. John’s softball team will be back in action this weekend in Leesburg Fla., at The Spring Games where it will take on Alabama State LIU Southern Mississippi twice and Bethune-Cookman.”
