The St. John’s women’s tennis team is preparing for two home matches this weekend, facing Rider on Friday and Monmouth on Sunday at the USTA National Tennis Center. The matches are scheduled to begin at 12:15 p.m. on Friday and 7:15 p.m. on Sunday.

Last weekend, St. John’s secured a 4–0 win over Fairfield with strong performances from Victoria Papadopoulou and Noemi Babikova. However, the team fell to Princeton on Feb. 1, bringing their season record to 2–2.

Rider will visit Queens for the third straight year. St. John’s won both previous encounters against Rider, who started its 2026 season with a close loss to Lehigh on Jan. 31. In the previous season, Rider had a conference record of 5–3 before being eliminated by Siena in the first round of the MAAC tournament.

Monmouth comes into the weekend with an 0–2 record after losses to Lehigh and Stony Brook, both non-conference opponents. Patrice Murray continues as head coach in her 40th season leading Monmouth’s women’s tennis program.

St. John’s has faced Monmouth each season since 2023 and has won all three meetings during that span.

After this weekend’s contests, St. John’s will play Hofstra at home on Friday, Feb. 13 at the USTA National Tennis Center, with first serve set for 12:15 p.m.
