The St. John’s women’s golf team will attempt to defend its team title at the Northern Kentucky Spring Fling this weekend, according to a March 12 announcement.

The tournament is significant for the Red Storm as they return as defending champions, aiming to repeat last year’s success in a competitive field.

The event will include 11 teams: Mercyhurst, Detroit Mercy, Holy Cross, Southern Indiana, Eastern Illinois, host Northern Kentucky, Bucknell, Monmouth Purdue-Fort Wayne and Duquesne. The three-day tournament begins Friday at 11:30 a.m. at Sandridge Golf Club in Vero Beach, Florida. Play continues Saturday at 11 a.m. and concludes Sunday with an 8 a.m. start.

The Red Storm lineup will feature several players competing both as part of the team and individually. Wu recently earned BIG EAST Player of the Week honors after leading St. John’s with an 11th place finish at the UNCW River Landing Classic last week; the team finished 11th overall in Wallace, North Carolina.

Last year at this event, St. John’s finished first among eight teams with four golfers placing inside the top-20. That victory marked the 26th tournament title for Head Coach Ambry Bishop-Santillo.

Live results for this year’s tournament will be available throughout the weekend.
