The St. John’s women’s golf team is in fifth place after the first two rounds of the UNCW River Landing Classic, held at the River Landing – River Course in North Carolina on Monday.
The team finished with a combined score of 47-over-par, 623, across both rounds. In the opening round, St. John’s recorded a 22-over-par, 310, and followed with a 25-over-par, 313, in the second round.
A senior golfer led St. John’s efforts and is tied for fourth place overall after posting a total score of 4-over-par, 148. She shot a consistent pair of 2-over-par, 74s in each round.
A sophomore from Chatsworth, California registered an 8-over-par, 152 over the two rounds. She opened with a 5-over-par, 77 and improved to a 3-over-par, 75 in the second round to tie for fourteenth place. Another teammate matched her performance as an individual competitor with an identical score of 8-over-par, 152.
Another member of the team sits in twenty-sixth place after finishing at 16-over-par, 160. The final scoring player for St. John’s is tied for thirty-seventh following a total of 20-over-par, 164.
The tournament will conclude tomorrow morning with play beginning at 8:45 a.m., and live results will be available online.
