St. John’s updates giveaway plans for men’s basketball game against Villanova

St. John’s Athletics has announced a change regarding its planned giveaway for the upcoming men’s basketball game against Villanova on February 28. The university stated that, “Due to the overwhelming response and to ensure the best experience for all fans, the planned ONE PIECE item distribution for the Red Storm men’s basketball game on Feb. 28 will no longer take place.”

Instead, fans attending the matchup between No. 15/15 St. John’s (22-5, 15-1 BIG EAST) and Villanova (21-6, 12-4 BIG EAST) are encouraged to participate in the team’s third annual Whiteout Game by wearing white at Madison Square Garden. According to St. John’s Athletics, “St. John’s Whiteout Game t-shirts will be distributed to a select number of fans seated in the lower bowl.”

St. John’s Red Storm Men’s Basketball plays home games in Queens, New York and is part of the Big East Conference. The team has achieved six Big East Tournament championships and two NIT titles throughout its history, according to its official website. The athletics teams are known as the Red Storm and have been active participants in collegiate basketball competitions in Queens.
