St. John’s men’s basketball team is set to face Creighton in Omaha on Saturday at 2 p.m. ET, marking a rematch of the 2025 BIG EAST Tournament Championship. The game will be broadcast on FS1 with Tim Brando and Donny Marshall providing commentary, while radio coverage will be available through ESPN New York 1050 AM and other platforms.

St. John’s, based in Queens, New York, and competing in the Big East Conference, enters the matchup with a 10-5 overall record and a 3-1 mark in conference play. The team recently secured an 84-70 win over Butler, where they outscored their opponent by 14 points in the second half and forced a season-high 21 turnovers. The Red Storm committed only five turnovers themselves, their lowest since February 2020.

Senior forward Zuby Ejiofor continues to lead St. John’s performance. “Reigning BIG EAST Player of the Week Zuby Ejiofor turned in another strong performance finishing with a team-high 18 points in Indianapolis,” according to the team statement. Over his last three games, Ejiofor has averaged more than 25 points and eight rebounds per contest.

Sophomores Ruben Prey and Lefteris Liotopoulos have contributed significantly off the bench. “Both players added 10 points and made key contributions during the road win at Butler,” according to St. John’s athletics.

The Red Storm is experiencing its third consecutive season starting conference play at 3-1 under Head Coach Rick Pitino. Since Pitino’s arrival in 2023, St. John’s has won 32 conference games—its highest total over three seasons since between 1998 and 2001.

The team’s current five-game BIG EAST road winning streak dates back to February 2025, which matches its longest such run since early 1999.

Saturday’s meeting will be the first between St. John’s and Creighton since St. John’s won the BIG EAST Tournament title against them last March at Madison Square Garden—their first tournament crown since 2000—by making “14 consecutive field goals during a 32-14 second half run” for an eventual victory.

Creighton holds a historical advantage over St. John’s with a record of 19 wins to St. John’s’13 across all meetings; however, St. John’s has only one win at Creighton’s home venue dating back to January 2019.

Creighton comes into this game after defeating Villanova on Wednesday night and currently stands second in league standings with a conference record of four wins and one loss.

After facing Creighton, St. John’s will return home for a Tuesday game against Marquette at Madison Square Garden.
