St. John’s men’s basketball team is set to play Baylor in its second game at the Players Era Championship on Tuesday in Las Vegas. The game will take place at Michelob ULTRA Arena with tip-off scheduled for 4:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on truTV, as well as available through several radio and streaming platforms including ESPN New York 880 AM, the LEARFIELD Red Storm Sports Network, and the St. John’s Red Storm app.

The Red Storm (3-2) are coming off a close loss against Iowa State in their tournament opener. Despite trailing by seven points in the second half, St. John’s regained the lead late in the game after Oziyah Sellers hit two consecutive three-pointers with just over two minutes left. However, Iowa State managed to hold off St. John’s until the final second and secured an 83-82 victory.

Sellers led St. John’s with a season-high 20 points, while Zuby Ejiofor and Bryce Hopkins each contributed 16 points. Dillon Mitchell added 12 points and nine rebounds, nearly achieving his second straight double-double of the season.

Both losses for St. John’s this season have been against top-15 ranked teams, while they have won their games against unranked opponents by an average margin of more than 38 points.

Baylor enters Tuesday’s matchup undefeated at 4-0 following a win over Creighton in its opening game of the Players Era Championship. Cameron Carr was Baylor’s leading scorer with 21 points and nine rebounds; he is averaging 23 points per game this season and has scored at least 21 points in three out of four appearances.

The opponent for St. John’s third game at the Players Era Festival will be decided after Tuesday’s matchups conclude.
