St. John’s basketball to host NCAA Tournament Selection Show party at Carnesecca Arena

The St. John’s men’s basketball program announced on March 14 that it will host an NCAA Tournament Selection Show Party at Carnesecca Arena on Sunday. Doors are set to open at 5 p.m., with the selection show beginning at 6 p.m. on CBS. Admission is free for all students and fans, and seating inside the arena will be general admission.

The event gives supporters a chance to join the team and coaches as they await their destination for the 2026 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament. The first 1,000 attendees will receive a commemorative back-to-back BIG EAST Regular Season Championship poster, and there will be product giveaways from sponsors including Insomnia Cookies, Hal’s New York, and C4 Energy. Additional activities include contests, a live DJ, trivia, and photo opportunities with the BIG EAST Regular Season Championship trophy in the lobby.

The Red Storm is expected to make its 31st all-time appearance in the tournament and its first consecutive appearances since the 1999-2000 seasons. The team currently holds a 27-6 overall record and posted an 18-2 mark in BIG EAST competition this season. St. John’s captured back-to-back outright BIG EAST Regular Championships and is scheduled to play second-seeded UConn for the conference tournament championship at Madison Square Garden.

St. John’s Red Storm Men’s Basketball has claimed six Big East Tournament championships and two National Invitation Tournament victories, according to the official website. The team plays its home games in Queens, New York, where it has been active as part of the Big East Conference under the Red Storm nickname according to the official website.

Looking ahead, fans can expect continued engagement from St. John’s as it prepares for postseason play while celebrating recent successes within its community.
