St. John’s University has released the promotional calendar for its 2025-26 women’s basketball season, outlining a series of themed events and fan engagement initiatives across 15 home games.
The calendar features several special nights, including “Rodeo at the Carn Barn” on November 19, Girl Scouts Day on January 10, Alumnae Day Red Out on January 24, National Girls and Women in Sports Day Pink Game on February 7, and Senior Night Johnnies Day Kick-Off on February 18. Fans attending these games can expect giveaways such as bandannas, Chick-Fil-a chicken sandwiches, shirts courtesy of Main Street Radiology, and more.
After each home game, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in the “Chuck a Duck” promotion. All proceeds from this activity will support the Tomorrow’s Hope Foundation.
The season opens Monday afternoon with St. John’s hosting Le Moyne at 2 p.m. The first 500 fans will receive a team schedule poster. Additionally, the first 500 students will be given JLAB Headphones in honor of Derek “DJ” Southerland, a St. John’s double alumnus and dedicated supporter who passed away in April at age 29. His memory will be recognized with a moment of silence before tip-off.
On November 19, St. John’s faces Oklahoma State for its first Big 12 opponent since 2017 during the country-themed Rodeo night. December’s Youth Days will welcome local basketball teams from the Greater New York City Metropolitan Area as St. John’s plays Providence (December 7) and Hofstra (December 13). Campers and Junior Johnnies Kids Club members are invited back to Queens for these events, which include postgame autograph sessions and opportunities for children to shoot lay-ups after games.
Girl Scouts Day is scheduled for January 10 against Butler at Carnesecca Arena. Alumnae Day takes place January 24 versus Villanova; former players and their families will be recognized as part of a “Red Out” celebration marking the program’s history.
National Girls and Women in Sports Day is set for February 7 with a pre-game youth clinic led by various Red Storm women’s sports programs before facing Seton Hall. The annual Play4Kay Pink game also occurs that day.
Senior Night Johnnies Day Kick-Off happens February 18 prior to playing Georgetown at 7 p.m., celebrating both senior athletes and university tradition. Since Johnnies Day began in 2022, both men’s and women’s programs have remained undefeated on this date.
Other planned promotions include Staff Appreciation Day (November 14), New Year’s Celebration (January 1), Y2K night (January 21), Everyone Watches Women’s Sports Night (February 4), among others.
Head Coach Joe Tartamella enters his fourteenth season leading the Red Storm. The team returns three of its top five scorers from last year and adds six new players to its roster.
