St. John’s baseball lost the series finale against Georgetown on April 12 at Jack Kaiser Stadium, with a final score of 10-7.
The game was closely contested, with St. John’s tying the score in the bottom of the eighth inning after a key error by Georgetown. However, Georgetown pulled ahead in the top of the ninth and maintained their lead until the end.
Six different players from St. John’s recorded hits during the game. Jayder Raifstanger went 3-for-5 at bat, including two singles, a double, and an RBI. Ayden Frey and Adam Agresti each had two hits for their second multi-hit performance of the series. Jon LeGrande, Shaun McMillan, and Rob Mansour also contributed with one hit each.
Pitcher Ian Mowad started for St. John’s and threw five innings while allowing only one run on six hits. Relief pitchers Tyler Longoria, Dylan Johnson, and Victor Frederick also made appearances during the game.
St. John’s scored early in both the first and third innings but fell behind as Georgetown rallied in later frames. Despite tying it up late in regulation play, St. John’s could not recover from Georgetown’s five-run surge in the ninth inning.
Looking ahead, St. John’s will return to action on Tuesday when they face Hofstra at Jack Kaiser Stadium.
