I’m disappointed and I’m furious but I can’t say that I’m shocked at Republicans in Congress passing this big, awful bill. The cruelty, the lack of empathy and the lack of concern for our friends, neighbors and fellow Americans is par for the course for this administration.
Representatives Elise Stefanik, Mike Lawler, Nick LaLota, Nicole Malliotakis, Andrew Garbarino, Claudia Tenney and Nick Langworthy could have defeated this bill by standing for the needs of their constituents and families across the state. Instead, they betrayed the New Yorkers they were sent to Washington to represent.
They have sold out American families, gutting Medicaid, ripping away access to health insurance and health care. All so their billionaire donors can keep their tax cuts. This bill will be devastating for New Yorkers and people across the country.
