Sabrina Ionescu has been named the Kia WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Month for July, marking her fifth career Player of the Month honor and her first for the 2025 season. This achievement is significant as it is also the New York Liberty’s first Player of the Month award in 2025 and represents the 20th time a Liberty player has received this recognition, which is more than any other team in league history.
Ionescu’s performance in July contributed to her being recognized with back-to-back Player of the Week awards, a win at the WNBA 3-Point Contest, and selection as an All-Star starter earlier in the season.
“This is her fifth career Player of the Month nod (second-most in franchise history) and first of the 2025 season.”
“And let’s not forget — Sab already stacked back-to-back Player of the Week awards, a WNBA 3-Point Contest win, and an All-Star starter spot this season.”
“Franchise history check: This is our first Player of the Month of 2025 and the 20th in Liberty history — the most in the W.”
