Rep. Ritchie Torres, a U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 15th district since 2021, recently posted a series of messages on social media highlighting issues ranging from civil rights to local community concerns and religious observances.

On February 17, 2026, Torres paid tribute to a prominent civil rights leader in a tweet: “Rev. Jesse Jackson was a towering figure in the fight for civil rights and economic justice. He spent his life speaking up for people who too often went unheard and pushing America to live up to its true promise.

We stand on the shoulders of his courage, faith, and lifelong” (posted February 17, 2026).

Later that same day, Torres welcomed fellow Congressman Hakeem Jeffries to his home borough and addressed ongoing political issues: “Honored to welcome @RepJeffries to the Bronx this weekend and speak with Bronxites about the real harm Donald Trump’s agenda is causing to our borough and our nation, and the work underway from @HouseDemocrats to push back and deliver for our communities.” (posted February 17, 2026).

On February 18, Torres marked an important religious occasion with another message: “Ramadan Mubarak to all who celebrate. May this sacred month bring reflection, resilience, and renewed hope to you and your loved ones.” (posted February 18, 2026).

Torres has represented New York’s 15th District since succeeding José E. Serrano in Congress in 2021. Born in The Bronx in 1988, Torres continues to reside there while serving his constituents.
