Ritchie Torres, U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 15th district since 2021, posted a series of statements on his social media account addressing national politics and local environmental concerns.
On July 21, 2025, Torres commented on an unspecified situation with the post: “Spoiler alert: it’s been a disaster.”
The following day, July 22, he shared his perspective on former President Donald Trump’s political image, stating: “The greatest trick that the devil ever performed was convincing the world that Donald Trump was an outsider.”
Later that same day, Torres addressed air quality issues in his home borough. He wrote: “Here in the Bronx, commercial cooking is the #1 source of air pollution. We can’t solve the problems with our air quality without overhauling the equipment inside our restaurants, and that’s exactly what the CHEFS Act is designed to do.”
Torres has represented New York’s 15th District in Congress since replacing José E. Serrano in 2021. Born and residing in The Bronx, Torres has focused on both national political discourse and local legislative initiatives during his tenure.
