Rep. Ritchie Torres, a U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 15th district since 2021 and a Bronx native, recently announced new investments in childcare and grocery access for his constituents via social media.

On February 3, Torres posted on X, “$55 MILLION for Childcare in the Bronx! https://t.co/1dyvKGuguZ”.

Three days later, on February 6, he addressed the Riverdale community regarding local food access: “Big news for Riverdale!

After the closure of the old Key Food left families without a walkable grocery option, we worked with local partners to keep a full-service supermarket at Skyview Shopping Center.

Fine Fare is stepping in, investing millions to renovate the space and”.

Torres followed up by acknowledging his collaborators: “Proud to have partnered with @bronxbp, @JeffreyDinowitz, and @EricDinowitzNYC on this important work.”

Torres has served as representative of New York’s 15th congressional district since replacing José E. Serrano in 2021. Born in The Bronx in 1988 and currently residing there, Torres often highlights issues impacting local families and neighborhoods through legislative initiatives and public statements.
